About the Caucus
The purpose of this event is to connect, engage and inspire the One Young World Ambassador
community, partners and mobilise people towards impactful change. The Caucus will comprise of keynote speeches from senior leaders in the industry, hosting a panel comprised of One Young World Ambassadors as well as experts in their fields, and offering a chance for attendees to join the conversation and dig deeper into the theme. This is also an opportunity to re-connect with Ambassadors from previous years and to drive conversation around being a powerful force for social good through SDG 8.
What to expect
We will kick off with keynote speeches from senior leaders in the industry, followed by Q&A sessions. We will also have a panel discussion featuring One Young World Ambassadors listed below.

Farai Mubaiwa
Chief Partnerships Officer at Youth Employment Service (YES) and One Young World Ambassador
Farai is the Chief Partnerships Officer at the Youth Employment Service (YES). YES is a business-led NPO works in partnership with government and labour to initiate policy changes which incentives the creation of jobs for youth. As YES’ CPO Farai is responsible leading strategic partnerships including managing 31 Implementation Partners who provide quality work experience to over 5000 YES Youth on behalf of corporates. Moreover, Farai leads YES’ critical relationships with key partners in civil society, government, youth development agencies, industry bodies and other collaborative stakeholders who are aligned to YES’ overall mission and vision.
Fatima Newman
Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at EOH Group
A strategically-minded Executive with 25 years’ experience across a range of industries and expertise in Risk, Compliance, Regulatory and Governance, Stockbroking and Asset Management and Corporate Finance. Fatima leads an innovation and systems thinking approach, working through complexities and implementing suitable and fit for purpose solutions. I have considered and navigated a broad range of complexities from an African standpoint and have led multiple transformation programs, specifically from a conduct and conduct risk perspective. Career highlights include successfully championing and building a Career Academy, navigating complexity and serving as a strategic thought leader to name a few.
Jo Pohl
Chief Finance Officer at iOCO (EOH)
Jo is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA) and ACCA), a Professional Banker of the Institute of Bankers in SA (PBSA) and a member of SAIBA and the IOD with a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Wales and completed an executive development programme with the University of Oxford - Said Business School. She is highly principled and passionate about empowering people and philanthropy. She counsels cancer patients, works with entrepreneurs, is a member of the 30% Club Southern Africa Steering Committee and an adjudicator for the GMA awards. She has been a sponsor and mentor on the Global Women in Leadership and Africa Emerging Leadership Programmes, mentored on the Black Entrepreneurship Initiative and served on SAICA's (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) Initial Professional Development and Exam Committees and has adjudicated the Technology Top 100 (TT100) awards and CFO case study
Malisha Awunor
Human Resource Director at EOH Group
Malisha is a Human Resources practitioner with a business masters in change management and BBBEE. An experienced, self-motivated Human Resource professional with diverse global experience across multiple commodities and over 16 years in mining operations across Africa and South America. A strong team player driven by operational excellence and value creation. Excellent influencing capabilities and the ability to build effective group-wide networks. Multifaceted skill set in both project and change management. A passion for diversity, inclusion and belonging, with a focus on relatable, performance-driven work cultures built on fertile grounds in which all people can thrive. “I have a high need to serve and make a difference. Zengeziwe Msimang
Chief Engagement Officer at Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator
Zengeziwe is Chief Engagement Officer at Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator. She leads partner and stakeholder management to support Harambee’s systems change agenda. She brings two decades of experience working across government, the private sector and civil society. Zeng most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the Oliver & Adelaide Tambo Foundation and spent nearly a decade prior to that working in South Africa’s public sector. She is a graduate of the University of Cape Town and has lived across southern Africa, Canada, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Amanda Nthati Chembezi
Governance Network Lead at the African Leadership Academy
Amanda is a Governance Network Lead at the African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg where she is building a Pan-African ecosystem of public servants, politicians, activists and policy researchers committed to promoting ethical leadership and governance on the African continent. In 2020, Amanda founded The Tokoloho Talks Podcast: a podcast hosting hard conversations about what it means to be truly liberated as young Africans. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Development Studies from the University of Portsmouth and an Undergraduate degree in Finance and Accounting. She is the Country Director for Girls for Girls Botswana, an NGO working to train young women to be leaders. In 2015, Amanda was a recipient of the prestigious Botswana St Louis Top 40 under 40 catalysts for her community engagement in Botswana. She was also recognized in 2012 as a Moremi Initiative Top 25 under 25 young women in Africa promoting the empowerment of women and girls. She is interested in pursuing a PhD research programme in the areas of gender, governance and decolonial studies.
Simonetta Giuricich
Chief Operating Officer for VAT IT Reclaim and One Young World Ambassador
Simonetta is the Chief Operating Officer for VAT IT Reclaim, a proud One Young World ambassador and member of the South African FinBiz2030 task force. She studied at the University of the Witwatersrand where she completed her Bachelor of Accounting Science with a Higher Diploma in Accountancy in 2009. After doing her articles at PwC Johannesburg in the Banking and Capital Markets division, she qualified as a CA(SA) and in 2013 was sent on a short-term secondment to PwC Boston. In the same year, she completed a course in Entrepreneurship and International Business Development at the MIB School of Management in Trieste, Italy where she went on to work for TBS Group Spa – one of the leading independent providers of integrated healthcare technology – as they looked to break into the South African market. Her career at VAT IT, the global market leader in international and local VAT recovery, began in late 2014 and continues today.
