Serena Bashal
Youth Climate Activist
Serena, from the UK, was a BMW Group Climate Change Scholar at One Young World 2024. She is specialised in intergenerational cooperation within UN processes, with COP29 marking her 8th COP.
She recently completed her Masters degree in Climate Change at the University of Oxford. Prior to Oxford, Serena was based in Bangkok, working with UN Asia-Pacific regional offices to advance youth climate action. With over eight years as a UK youth delegate and numerous roles within the UN, she has organised hundreds of meetings between youth and government officials, contributed to policy development, and coordinated multiple event spaces.
In 2018, Serena was elected to represent all global youth delegates in UN Climate processes, becoming the youngest person to hold this role.
