Keithlin Caroo-Afrifa

Keithlin Caroo-Afrifa, a dynamic Saint Lucian advocate, is dedicated to addressing gender inequality and fostering rural development throughout the Caribbean. She is the driving force behind Helen’s Daughters Inc., a non-profit organisation making significant strides in Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Founded in 2016, Helen’s Daughters embodies her fervent commitment and provides advocacy, capacity development, and enhanced market access to countless rural women across multiple islands. With roots in agriculture stemming from her upbringing in a farming household, Mrs. Caroo-Afrifa pairs her passion with a background in International Relations.
Her five- year tenure at the United Nations, where she focused on Peacekeeping and Economic, Social, and Political Affairs, deepened her understanding of agriculture's pivotal role in societal stability. Recognized internationally for her ongoing efforts to empower Caribbean rural women, Ms. Caroo-Afrifa serves as a One Young World Ambassador, recipient of the 2018 National Youth Award in Agriculture in Saint Lucia, Thought for Food Ambassador for the Caribbean, Forbes Island Innovator, and fellow of Ashoka and Echoing Green.
Furthermore, she has been honored with an MBE for humanitarian services by HM Queen Elizabeth II and appointed as an IICA Goodwill Ambassador for Sustainable Development.
